accidentally: About

Lessons learned while falling upwards

I have never had a singular purpose; one goal or idea to push me along through life. Somehow that has worked out perfectly for me. But the one common theme that has led me to each chapter, story, and event in my life is: “I accidentally fell into ____”.

This is not something that I can recommend to the world at large. If you’ve ever managed to fall up a set of stairs, you understand that even though you’ve gotten closer to your destination than if you had fallen down those stairs, there’s something about falling up them that makes the rest of your day harder.

But, if we’re sticking to this one analogy, each time you fall up a set of stairs, you learn what to look out for, what to avoid, how to move, and how to assist yourself through every future set of stairs you try to navigate – at least in the upwards direction.

And so, in my ‘accidental’ life, filled with ‘accidental’ situations, I have gathered some very purposeful lessons. Lessons that I have realized not only help me, but could save you the bumps and bruises that come with trying to figure out similar lessons of your own.

A wealth of knowledge is a wealth better shared. I hope my lessons shared accidentally: makes you richer.
